Baby room,

Our aim: to help children build, secure attachments with both staff and their peers, fostering trust confidence and a sense of belonging. Alongside this we encourage children to develop their communication skills to the use of gestures, non-verbal cues and spoken words where applicable ensuring that every child has a voice and feels understood

Nursery Focus – to support children to see a wonderful world in which they live in awe and wonder,

  • React in interactions (reacting to sounds ,own name)
  • Recognise family members (Mother, Father siblings)
  • Use all their senses in hands-on exploration of natural materials
  • Manipulate materials by using fine motor skills(reaching grasping, grabbing toys, moving and placing objects, turning pages in a book, filling and emptying containers, fitting jigsaws)
  • Move and explore the outdoors, enhancing their gross motor skills (crawling, walking climbing running)

Toddler room,

To support children in developing their ability to communicate using a wider range of words to build stronger social skills through positive interactions and to improve their focus and attention during play and learning experiences by providing a language, rich environment opportunities for collaboration and engaging activities that capture interest, children will grow in confidence, communication and concentration.

  • Be aware and identify differences that they have seen in photos are the real world
  • Identify familiar places (home, nursery shop)
  • Name people who help us in the community (doctor, police officer key person) – to identify people to go to when they need help
  • Recognise familiar people from nursery and home by naming and pointing
  • Understand plants and animals need to be cared for (sense of responsibility, showing care and concern)

Pre-School room,

Our aim: is to support children to communicate with increasing fluency and clarity to strengthen their memory and recall to develop confidence in their own abilities and to become increasingly independent in managing their personal care needs through consistent encouragement, rich, learning, experiences and positive role modelling. We will provide the foundations for children to express themselves effectively approach challenges with resilience and take pride in their growing independence.

  • Have a sense of responsibility accomplish small tasks (helping staff)

  • Understand how to be safe whilst out in the community, (Stranger deeper safe crossing)

  • Understand plants and animals need to be cared for (sense of responsibility, showing care and concern)

  • Understand and accept each other’s differences.
